Ten Tips on Modding That Will Help You Alot

Ten Tips on Modding That Will Help You Alot

1: Law - Familiarize Yourself With It!

This is pretty crucial and one that can cost you money and hassle. Be sure to look into your local and state laws before making adjustments to your car. Particularly you want to look for laws on tinted windows and exhaust noise. You’ll see a lot of people driving around whilst breaking a few laws like; some states require you to have front license plates. And while people do get away with some things, it all comes down to which cop you have the fortune or misfortune of coming across. Police have a lot of discretion and they can use it as they please. So if you ever find yourself in a situation where you’re being asked for your license and registration, try and be polite. Being aggressive and abrasive doesn’t really work all too well if we are to believe all the videos we see on YouTube.

2: Budget - Spend What You Can Afford!

This goes without saying but you will need to write down your budget, mods you want and the actual cost of those mods + labor. This will help you understand your financial situation and plan out your modifications over a period of a few months. Your car will look just as beautiful in May as it will today. Difference is the money in your bank. So be sure to spend responsibly and don’t get yourself into a bind.

3: Research - Learn Before You Do.

This cannot be hammered home enough. Not all mods are made equal. Some can be downright dangerous to yourself and your car. Take your time and do your research. There are many forums online and car enthusiasts groups that will be happy to help you. You can also contact us to get tips. We have been in this business for a couple of years and had this passion for even longer. So before you spend your money, read up on what is good and what is not.

4: Safety - Never Put Yourself At Risk!

Your car is designed proportionally. Brakes have a direct correlation to your engine output. So as you add on more horses, also add on braking power. Safety is always first. Cars can be replaced and so can the mods. But you are irreplaceable and we want you to live a long and healthy life with many beautiful cars. So we recommend prioritizing safety over everything else. But especially if you are going to extract more power from your ride. Remember, you can be an excellent driver, but you will still not be able to control other drivers on the road among other factors as well.

5: Quality of Parts - Never Compromise On This!

This ties into research but we made it’s own entry as well. Do not, for any reason, install a subpar part to your car. If it is about money, you can buy on installments or just buy later after saving up. But always prioritize quality over economy. Robust parts will perform as advertised and last you a long time as opposed to wonky parts that will undoubtedly break down or simply fail. And then you’ll spend more money on cleaning the mess. Again, we are here to help you with your questions at no cost to you. So hit us up!

6: Rushing - Only Fools Rush In!

Take your time. Always take your time. Rushing will likely lead you into problems, regrets and buyers remorse. We all know how difficult it is to hold your horses when it comes to passion and interests. But it is just as important to learn some discipline and make good decisions by not always giving into that impulse. This will also help you with many other things in life. And we wish the best for you of course.

7: Consulting - Talk to the Experts!

You are not alone. There are many avenues for you to explore, learn and take advice from. From Reddit to forums to discord servers to Bimmer Plug support. We always look at cars on the road and appreciate a job well done. And you will be driving one of those cars we gawk at if you do it right. You will also enjoy your ride and feel that heavenly bliss if you take your time to do justice to yourself and to your car.

8: Engine Tuning - Avoid Those Sounds!

Remember how we said that cars are designed proportionally? This is why you want to tune your engine as you upgrade it. This will help you avoid issues like knocking, overheating and prevent you from losing engine life. May even extend it. You will need to take care of your car like nothing you have ever taken care of. Your love needs to be reflected in the beauty and performance of your car. The more love you show your car, the more you’ll get out of it.

9: Resale Value - Keep it Real!

Personally, I have always said goodbye to resale value whenever I decided to make any modifications. This is because I undertake the risk of messing it up despite my best efforts. But so far, I have never had that problem. Remember to not throw away the original parts and you should be able to return your car to its original state. Unless of course you plan to sell it as is or never sell it at all.

10: Maintain it! Always

Your car depends on you more than you depend on it. While cars can communicate and let you know when something is off, you should not wait for those warnings to take action. Stay on top of maintenance schedule and do right by your ride. It will always come back to you in a very good way. While ignoring the maintenance will most likely have you fixing things all the time.
