Open the hood and locate the front kidney grille surround. The grilles are accessible from the engine bay side.

Using a plastic trim pry tool, release the surround retaining clips working from the center outward on each side. Do not use metal tools to avoid scratching the carbon surround.

Carefully extract the OEM kidney grilles from the surround housing. Set them aside in a safe location — they can be reinstalled at any time.

Before final installation, test fit the Bimmer Plug CSL carbon grilles into the surround housing without pressing to the final clip engagement. Confirm alignment and orientation.

Press each CSL grille firmly into the housing until all retaining clips engage — you'll hear an audible click when fully seated. Apply even pressure across the grille face.

Check for flush fitment, consistent gaps, and symmetry between both grilles. Any misalignment is correctable by releasing and re-seating.

Close the hood and step back to inspect from the front of the car. Confirm both grilles are symmetrical and the carbon finish is clean and undamaged.
