While DIY installation is possible with mechanical knowledge, professional installation is recommended for optimal results and to avoid potential fitment issues.

Open trunk fully. Use a plastic pry tool to release retaining clips on both rear interior side panels. Set aside on a microfiber cloth.

Locate the OEM wiring harness behind each taillight. Press the retaining tab and pull the connector straight back to disconnect.

03

Remove T20 Torx screws securing the OEM unit. Pull the housing straight rearward off the locating pins. Store OEM units safely.

04

Align the new taillight with body locating pins. Press firmly until flush. Reinstall T20 screws to factory torque spec.

05

Plug harness connector in until it clicks. Test brake, reverse, running light, and sequential turn signal functions. Confirm no iDrive warnings.

06

Press interior trunk liner panels back onto retaining clips until fully seated and flush.
