Installation Protocol

Open the trunk lid and locate the interior trim panel behind each taillight housing. Use a trim pry tool to release the panel clips without damaging the liner.

Press the release tab on the OEM wiring harness connector and disconnect it from the taillight housing. Set aside carefully — the harness will connect directly to the new unit.

Using a T20 Torx screwdriver, remove the mounting screws securing the taillight housing. Gently pull the housing outward from the body panel cutout.

If your new LCI taillights require bulb transfer from the OEM housing, carefully remove and reinstall bulbs into the corresponding sockets on the Bimmer Plug housing.

Connect the OEM harness connector to the Bimmer Plug LCI taillight — it should click in securely. Seat the housing into the body panel opening, aligning all mounting points.

Reinstall all Torx mounting screws. Reattach trunk liner clips. Test brake lights, turn signals, and reverse lights before closing the trunk to confirm full function.
